On 11 October 2026, Fuentio's MCP server and REST API went live. If your AI agent, back office or onboarding flow needs to know whether a French or Spanish company exists and is still active, it can now ask the official sources directly, with the source and the check date next to every fact.

What you'll learn

  • What Fuentio is and how to use it
  • Where its data comes from
  • What the 17 tools do, in plain words
  • What it costs to start, and its limits

Short answer: Fuentio resolves, reconciles and monitors French and Spanish companies from official registers: every fact with its source, its date and the record behind it. It is built for AI agents: one MCP server (https://api.fuentio.com/mcp) and one REST API (https://api.fuentio.com), with honest gaps: what isn't covered is said, never guessed. You can start without a key, and a free key gives 100 units a month, no card.

What Fuentio is

A company data service for two countries, France and Spain. It answers questions such as: is this company still active, and since when? Which company does this SIREN, SIRET or VAT number belong to? Which Spanish company is “Telefónica SA”, and what was its latest act in the official gazette? Is the record in my CRM the same company as the one in the register?

The answers come from official registers and gazettes only, in the register's own wording with normalised codes next to it, and say where each fact came from and when it was checked. When the source doesn't say something, the answer says “unknown”.

Agents connect to the MCP server; your own code calls the REST API with a key in the X-API-Key header. Both use the same data and units.

Where the data comes from

  • France, company identity and status: INSEE's Sirene directory and INPI's national company register (RNE), read through the State's Annuaire des Entreprises. This covers every company in the public Sirene directory: SIREN, SIRET, VAT number, legal form, status and its date, registered office, activity code.
  • France, insolvency notices: the BODACC, the official bulletin of civil and commercial announcements, with notices loaded since 2008.
  • Spain: the BORME, the official gazette of the Registro Mercantil, read from every section A document published since 2 January 2009. This gives incorporations, changes of address, name or capital, dissolutions, extinctions and other acts, each linked to its official page.
  • Both countries, company groups: GLEIF, the global Legal Entity Identifier register, which links parent and child companies, company to company.

Each source keeps its own reuse licence, named in every answer. The trust page lists them as the API states them.

The 17 tools in plain words

Find and read: list_coverage (what is covered, free), search_companies (a company by name, with a score and its reasons), lookup_company (a company by its official number: status, address, form, activity, source, date) and get_company_history (what changed, and when).

Match records: resolve_company (is the record you hold a company in the register? only an official number links, never a name), explain_match (why two records are, or aren't, the same company) and get_evidence (every value for a field, each with its source).

Check: verify_company (an onboarding decision: outcome, reasons, checks, signals and a proof code), screen_company (the company's own names against sanctions lists; a possible match is not proof, and no match proves nothing on its own), check_insolvency (BODACC in France, BORME acts in Spain), check_address, check_vat and review_report (every check at once).

Monitor: what_changed (changes since a date, with the gaps) and watch_company (signed change notices to your https endpoint). Group and feedback: get_graph (parent and child companies from GLEIF) and report_issue.

Screening, the review report, watching, the graph and issue reports need a key. Every tool, its units and its errors are in the docs.

What it looks like

On 12 October 2026, the live server answered a verification of Danone (SIREN 552032534) like this:

DANONE (FR, SIREN 552032534): verified, active per Annuaire des Entreprises (API Recherche d'entreprises), checked 2026-10-12. Proof FUE-FR-20261012-ABAT38.

For a company that has stopped trading, the same tool says “unverified” with the reason: see supplier onboarding in France and Spain in one call. For why every answer carries its source, date and proof code, read the evidence behind every answer.

Free to start

  • No key: 20 units a day, enough to try the tools in an agent.
  • Free key: 100 units a month, one key per person, no card. Create it on the pricing page or with one call.
  • Paid plans: from €49 a month for 5,000 units, up to the Compliance plan.

Get your free key on the pricing page and connect your agent in a minute: check French and Spanish companies inside Claude shows how, and where to find Fuentio lists the marketplaces and registries where it is published.

Limits: what Fuentio doesn't do

  • France and Spain only.
  • No data about people. No person's name appears in any answer; the company graph links companies only.
  • No Spanish NIF or CIF lookup. The BORME doesn't carry tax numbers, so Spanish companies are found by name, then by their registry sheet.
  • Spain covers companies with a BORME act since 2009, as events, not a full register; a Spanish status is “unknown” unless an act says otherwise.
  • No annual accounts, no credit ratings, no ownership analysis.
  • No share capital for France, and “ceased” (cessée) is the French directory's status, not a legal dissolution.
