Official sources only
Every answer starts from an official register or gazette, and carries its source, its link and the date we checked it. These are the sources the live API listed on 12 October 2026 (/v1/sources), with their licences quoted as the API states them:
| Source | Country | Licence or attribution, as the API states it | Refreshed |
|---|---|---|---|
| BORME — Boletín Oficial del Registro Mercantil (Sección A) | ES | Basado en datos de la Agencia Estatal Boletín Oficial del Estado (BORME), https://www.boe.es — reuse conditions: https://www.boe.es/informacion/aviso_legal/ | Monday to Friday, morning (BOE) |
| GLEIF (Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation), Spanish entities | ES | CC0 1.0 (Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation, LEI data) | three times a day at GLEIF; Fuentio loads the full file on demand |
| Annuaire des Entreprises (API Recherche d'entreprises) | FR | Licence Ouverte / Etalab 2.0 (Annuaire des Entreprises, INSEE Sirene); officers: INPI RNE reuse licence | daily (INSEE Sirene + INPI RNE) |
| INSEE Base Sirene (monthly full file) | FR | Licence Ouverte 2.0 (Insee, Base Sirene des entreprises et de leurs établissements) | monthly (files dated the 1st); Fuentio loads them on demand |
| GLEIF (Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation), French entities | FR | CC0 1.0 (Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation, LEI data) | three times a day at GLEIF; Fuentio loads the full file on demand |
| BODACC | FR | Source: DILA, BODACC | Not stated by the API |
France's officer data (INPI's national register, the RNE) reaches the Annuaire des Entreprises, but no person's name is served (see below). More detail per country: sources and coverage.
When sources disagree
A company can appear in more than one source. When two official sources give different values for the same field, the answer serves one by a fixed source priority and lists every competing value with its source. You see the disagreement; we never pick silently. The examples page shows a real case.
No person data
Fuentio checks companies only. No person's name appears in any answer: directors, shareholders and sole traders are not served, and the company graph links companies only. There is no search by a person's name.
Where it runs
- The API, the MCP server and their database run on a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH in Falkenstein, Germany, in the European Union.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the website and the API (DNS, encryption, caching and protection against attacks).
- Database backups: nightly copies, kept 7 days.
- Details, including what each call leaves with us and for how long: the privacy policy.
Honest gaps
- Spain: companies with a BORME act since 2 January 2009, events only; status is “unknown” unless an act says otherwise; no NIF or CIF lookup.
- France: no share capital; “ceased” (cessée) is the directory's status, not a legal dissolution.
- No accounts, ratings or ownership data.
- What an answer could not confirm is said in the answer.
Report a wrong fact
If an answer contradicts an official document you hold, tell us: from your agent with the report_issue tool, or by email to hello@fuentio.com. We check it against the official source.
What we don't claim
Fuentio holds no ISO or SOC 2 certification. We describe what we do, and what the terms commit us to.
