The short answer
Before you pay a supplier, sign with one or renew a contract, procurement asks three questions: is the company still active, is there an insolvency notice, and does the address on the invoice match the register? Fuentio answers all three from official French and Spanish sources, with the source and the check date next to every fact, so the answer can go straight into your supplier file.
The three questions
Is the supplier still active? lookup_company returns the status from the register with its date (1 unit). This is what the live API said about Danone on 12 October 2026:
DANONE (FR, SIREN 552032534) is active as of 2026-09-10, source: Annuaire des Entreprises (API Recherche d'entreprises).
Any insolvency notice? For France, check_insolvency reads BODACC insolvency notices (1 unit); for Spain, BORME insolvency acts. The answer gives the state, the notices with their official citations, and the date from which notices are loaded. It never turns a missing notice into a clean bill of health. On 12 October 2026 the answer for Peugeot SA was:
Insolvency: not_covered; 0 notice(s).
with this note from the API:
From BODACC A insolvency notices (DILA), linked by SIREN. Notices about people and personal sanctions are left out. No notice outside the loaded years is not proof of no procedure.
Does the address match? The lookup returns the registered address as the register writes it. For France, check_address also validates it against the national address base (1 unit), with coordinates and how many active companies share that address, a useful signal for domiciliation addresses.
Run it on your supplier list
- From a spreadsheet: one lookup per supplier by SIREN or SIRET (France) or registry sheet (Spain). With no number, search by name first (2 units a page).
- From your procurement tool: call the REST API with your key in the
X-API-Keyheader. Every answer has the same shape:data, meta(source, check date, units used) anderror. - From an AI agent: connect the MCP server and ask in plain words, for example “Is SIREN 552032534 still active? Give sources.”
- Decide on a supplier:
verify_company(5 units) gives an outcome with reasons and a proof code.
Units, limits and every parameter are in the docs.
Keep watching
A supplier that was fine at onboarding can cease, move or open an insolvency procedure later. what_changed lists what changed since your last check, with sources and the gaps it could not cover. With an API key, watch_company sends the changes, signed, to your https endpoint: 3 watches on the free plan, 100 on paid plans.
Spanish suppliers
In Spain, Fuentio reads the BORME: companies with an act published since 2 January 2009. There is no NIF or CIF lookup, so search by name and keep the registry sheet. Status is “unknown” unless an act says otherwise; the latest act and its date are shown, with a link to the official page. A search on 12 October 2026 for Telefónica returned:
10 of 251 companies matching 'telefonica' in ES (page 1), source: BORME — Boletín Oficial del Registro Mercantil (Sección A). First results: TELEFONICA SA (ES-RMHOJA-M-6164, match 0.95); TELEFONICA TECH SL (ES-RMHOJA-M-32558, match 0.81); TELEFONICA CABLE SA (ES-RMHOJA-M-110013, match 0.80); TELEFONICA INFRA SL (ES-RMHOJA-M-714534, match 0.80); FIBRA TELEFONICA SOCIEDAD ANONIMA (ES-RMHOJA-BI-17116, match 0.80). More: call again with page=2.
